YM: 2011 Youth Conference

The theme of the 2011 Youth Conference is, “Diamonds in the Rough: Heroes of the Past” . We wanted to highlight and really accentuate the theme in the flyer. Naturally, a desert is the perfect environment which depicts a harsh environment. Despite the hardships found in a desert, an oasis represents a source of relief and comfort. This oasis is a hidden treasure in the middle of the desert.

At the bottom of the graphic you can notice a map with the paths leading to the diamond, which lead individuals through the vastness of the desert to this oasis. This emphasizes following the footsteps of the heroes of the past(the diamonds) to find success(the oasis). The door is surrounded by an hourglass which indicates the past as well as beauty. The shield represents the bravery of the past heroes.

The sahaba and the righteous of the past were the heroes and hidden gems that brought life and beauty to its surroundings. Similarly, the door to the past is surrounded by life in a desert full of lifelessness.
